Dreaming of warmer days

Whilst we freeze our way through more rain and chill in Australia I dream of Faraway Europe and there warm summer weather . How Great is this open air swimming area in Copenhagen. Best to get back to my warm cup of tea and keep dreaming .

The art in a Keepsake toy .

Sorry for the blog overload today but there has been a few discoveries that I have been wanting to share . I recently heard about an exhibition called Doudou Forever at children’s shop Un Zèbre au Grenier in Paris. It featured a series of portraits by French photographer Bénédicte Lassalle called ‘Mine Forever‘, capturing people’s soft toys – or as the French refer to them as ‘doudous’. I think she captures the essence of a well loved toy. Every adult I speak to has a story about a child and their well loved toy . I hope that our La de dah softies and toys will also have beautiful stories to tell as they enter peoples home and become well loved toys for many years to come . There has been much debate whether a soft toy will become a thing of the past with technology fast advancing ? Do you think a little persons soft toy will ever be replaced ? Do you think that there is an item that can replace the soft toy ? In our house with a recent bout of sickness our little people not only play and interact with there soft toys but find comfort and warmth in the days they are sick . There is always a place for a soft toy in our house for both play and comfort.

I am obsessed with Grey

I am obsessed with the colour grey both in our ranges , in my home and with the boys . It is a great neutral colour- it can be dull and it is also a great base for anything I do decorating , dressing ( hello grey and a bright pop of colour ) . Sneak peak a new season

I have to say that I am extremely excited about our new products and new season of new home-wares . We have introduced Knitted bean bags one boy one girl . My boys have given the boys one a work out already our proto sample and they love it . All will be available late August in our shop. We have as requested by many of our customers also introduced some mobiles. Here is a few more snap shots of the range that will be available end of August .

Kids In style in review

Sorry for being absent from the blog for a while - but it has been a huge couple of weeks. We participated in our first ever Melbourne Kids In style our second trade show . Have put up a little photo of our stand - sorry only managed to get a small snap on the phone . Was happy with the way our stand turned out considering there was a time a couple of days before that I thought we may not have a stand. When it rains it snows as it does for many other working parents and small children but in the lead up to the fair we had one sick little boy . Friends and strangers generosity in their support has amazed me over the last few days. Thank you you know who you are and if you are reading this biggest thanks . There will be some La de dah goodies dotted around the country some returning retailers and some new. We will update our supplier list in the coming weeks so please get down to that beautiful corner store selling beautiful wares and support them .
